    Dear &FULLNAME;,

We have some news items, honors, upcoming events as well as an update on the superintendent search process to share with you.

    Superintendent Search Update

At its January 24 meeting, the Eden Prairie School Board heard a presentation from Ken Dragseth, consultant from School Exec Connect, on the New Superintendent Profile that defines the characteristics the district is seeking in its next superintendent.

The profile was developed by the search consultants using input from interviews and focus groups of district board members, administrators, principals, teachers, staff members, parents, students, and community members. Input was also gathered through an online survey, which was, also used to develop the profile. More than 200 people attended a focus group or were interviewed individually. Over 700 people completed the online survey.

Click here to read the New Superintendent Profile.

The search firm also presented a summary of the feedback from the focus groups and the interviews, and a summary of the online survey feedback.

The work of the superintendent search process now shifts to recruitment of candidates by the search firm. The firm will use the New Superintendent Profile to assist in identifying and screening potential candidates. A list of five-to-seven candidates will be presented to the board on Monday, March 12, with the first round of interviews set for Wednesday, March 14. The list of candidates to be interviewed will be made public following the March 12 meeting.

Archived information on the superintendent search process is available on the district website, www.edenpr.org, by clicking on the red superintendent search graphic on the front of the page.

    Souper Bowl Saturday

Souper Bowl Saturday is a time to gather our community for a simple meal of soup and bread to help support our neighbors in need.  Join us Saturday, January 28 from 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Central Middle School. The delicious soup is just part of the fun:

    • Local schools, including CMS and the EPHS, have created more than 700 one-of-a-kind, hand-painted ceramic bowls for those in attendance.
    • A silent auction will showcase handmade items for sale.
    • Local music will provide entertainment for the afternoon.
    • The mayors from Eden Prairie and Chanhassen are having a “show down”, come vote for the best painted bowl.

There is no fee to attend; a goodwill donation will be accepted at the door. Come and enjoy the fellowship and fun – and the warmth of a humble meal among friends.

Souper Bowl Saturday is sponsored by PROP, a food shelf and emergency services organization serving Eden Prairie and Chanhassen. More than 1,100 families needed PROP services last year and nearly half of those served were children. PROP is powered by volunteers and donations from individuals and organizations.
